My name is Kate O’Neill and I am currently a sophomore at North Carolina State University. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a dual license in Special Education.
Why I chose Education
I chose majoring in education because of the impact it has made on my life. We all have had those teachers we could count on, and that made a difference in our learning experiences. I want to be that person for my future students. All students face mental, emotional, and physical challenges that have effects on their education. Students need to have that teacher whose door is always open, keeping extra snacks in their drawer, and can empathize with what students are going through.
Striving for an Insight
I hope this site provides an insight for current or aspiring teachers. The following posts include skills I’ve gained in NC state classes, advice I’ve been given, helpful hints and resources to use inside the classroom, and challenges we’ve all faced that ultimately will make us better teachers. We are making a difference in the lives of students!
